Frequently asked questions

What is UniDispute?
UniDispute.com is a free arbitration tool provided by UniDebt (CV1 LLC). UniDispute provides an independent arbitration framework, and accessible settlement tools, for collections disputes. You consented to using UniDispute for any claims that UniDebt may have against you relating to your debt when you began a settlement request through UniDebt or Peach. It’s important to note that arbitration appeals are handled by AAA which is not administered or owned by CV1 LLC.
Do I need to respond?
Yes, if you fail to respond before the date listed on the front side, the arbitrator will only consider evidence from UniDebt and not you. As a result, an award may be issued against you without your involvement or input. Additionally, you will forfeit your right to appeal the award and UniDebt may move a court to issue a judgement and writ of garnishment against you.
How do I respond?
To respond, please see the instructions on the previous page. The portal will allow you to request an extension or file a response. To respond, you may upload statements and supporting evidence for your claims. You will need to electronically sign your submission swearing that the submission is truthful. You may also request a single 14-day extension to respond. If you decline to respond after the extension, it will considered the same as if you declined to respond initially.
Can a lawyer represent me?
Yes. We recommend that you retain a lawyer. Contact a local legal aid society for further help.
How can I appeal an adverse award?
Any award issued by the arbitrator, except in cases of failure to respond, is appealable to AAA. This right must be exercised within fourteen days of the issuance of the award by the arbitrator. Please note, should AAA sustain the award against you, the award will be amended to include the costs of AAA and UniDebt’s relevant and reasonable attorney fees.
